Magnet Fishing

A relatively new addition to our club is Magnet Fishing. If you are not sure what that is, you get a strong magnet and put it into water like you are fishing except instead of fish you are looking for metallic items.

Sometimes you are luckier than others but here is what we've found so far. Feel free to click on the image for a larger picture.

CULTUS LAKE - JANUARY 2022

We started at a boat launch since the other gates weren't open yet, I found some scrap iron and a length of chain and I got a nickel. We moved down to the main docks to give a go. Some of the docks were missing and others were pretty twisted, Mother Nature did her thing that's for sure. I found about a $1, lost count as well as the usual suspects like nails and bobby pins.

APRIL 2021

I found my magnet on my 3rd cast. I also found a lot of junk, 61 cents and a jackknife that is resting in some vinegar right now, it was odd, it is bent on the last 1/2 inch, see what comes out of the bath. I opened my locked metal box.... In the box was a scale, a series of very small ziplock bags for putting goodies into, no doubt. There was quite a bit of mud in the box, that is why I didn't hear anything when I shook the box. Once it has all dried out, I will put new batteries in the scale and see if it will work, probably not but I have to try at least.
